Just click on any photo in the photostream to be taken to our Flickr page. Once there, just click on “Sign in” in the upper right hand corner, and log in with the user name “axiomhouston” and the password “theaxiom.” Then you should be all set to upload your pics, and even add labels.

The winner of the Craziest Axiom Story contest is Greg Main of Academy Black, in a landslide. As one of the judges commented, “I have to vote for his for a few reasons. One, the creative writing ability, but more than that, his description of how it felt being in the Axiom overnight, or just up until you were the last one there is dead on.”

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about this, so here’s the scoop. We are wildly excited to have Academy Black as our headliners on Saturday night. They’ll be blazing through a set of Academy Black originals, and they’re threatening to bring their fog machine, too.

In addition, Academy Black will be joined by special guest Michael Haaga, formerly of dead horse. They’ll be performing songs from throughout Michael’s career, including material from The Plus and Minus Show, the Demonseeds, and yes, dead horse.

If you saw Fitzgerald’s 9/26 ad which said that Michael was doing a set of dead horse material, that’s incorrect. Dead horse isn’t playing – it’s Academy Black! Michael Haaga isn’t doing only dead horse songs! The remaining Beatles aren’t coming back from the dead! Led Zeppelin isn’t going on tour! (O.K., actually, Led Zeppelin is going on tour).

The deadline for the Craziest Axiom Story contest is almost here! The person who posts the best story by October 1st will receive two weekend passes, drink tickets, and an Axiom Reunion T-shirt. Stories about hallucinations and things you don’t remember doing but were told about later may be admitted at the discretion of the judges.

We will have silkscreened posters of Uncle Charlie’s fine artwork available at the show for $10.00, and T-shirts available for $15.00. Don’t miss the chance to pick up a memento from the mother of all reunion shows!

This just in: all original Fleshmop members will be playing the reunion. Fleshmop will be moving to Friday night to do their own set instead of sharing the stage with Joint Chiefs on Saturday.  So Jay Maulsby fans, you must come both nights to catch the full vocal talents of the Jesus of McKinney Street.

We are excited to announce the addition of more great bands to our line-up: Bayou Pigs, U.Y.U.S., Anarchitex (featuring Scott Ayers of Pain Teens on bass and Bob Webber of Really Red on drums), the Awful Truth, and Backyard Epics. If that’s not enough, we also have acoustic sets from David von Ohlerking (the Awful Truth) complete with strings and Uncle Charlie (Dresden 45).

It’s official – the Axiom reunion will be held at Fitzgerald’s on 2706 White Oak Drive. 

As many of you know, the very cool local theatre company Infernal Bridegroom Productions, which had occupied the Axiom building for the past five years, closed unexpectedly in late July. Due to IBP’s closing, and also the fact that we weren’t sure if we could fit all of y’all into the reconfigured Axiom, we have chosen to hold the event at Fitz. Everyone at Fitzgerald’s is excited about having us there.
